Each and every piece is expertly handcrafted in our Reykjavík workshop, using sterling silver and other precious metals and gems, procured exclusively from sustainable sources.

 

The designer

Award – winning jewellery designer Guðbjörg Kristín Ingvarsdótir is the name behind our unique Icelandic jewellery. Her innovative jewellery designs are a combination of delicate individual elements inspired by her surroundings. Guðbjörg often seeks her inspiration from the Icelandic nature and spends time in the West fjords where the majestic and raw landscape has become a source of inspiration, enforcing the natural creativity she possesses.

Aurum operates through core values which are reflected in the jewellery‘s design and quality. Each and every piece is expertly handcrafted from sterling silver in the company‘s integrated workshop in Reykjavík, Iceland. At Aurum, heritage meets modern day by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern, timeless design.

Aurum stands for Ambition, Understanding, Responsibility, Unity and Mindfulness. Aurum puts great emphasis on ambition through our design, product development, quality and customer care. We show understanding to the needs of our clients and customers and with respect and empathy, we are able to be helpful and flexible. We show responsibility throughout Aurum by developing a positive and respectable working environment that encourages collaboration and cooperation between employees. Aurum sources materials from certified fair trade companies and provides environmentally friendly packaging for our clients and customers. Aurum displays unity with our community by supporting charities with short and long-term projects, donating all profits from those projects to selected causes. We care about the environment

Aurum incorporates sustainability principles throughout the company‘s operations, such as sourcing only recycled and re-refined precious metals and only buying certified and conflict-free precious stones and diamonds. Our very special packaging is modelled on Icelandic stones which Guðbjörg found on an Icelandic beach in West Iceland. They are made out of „saa Oaoer“ or Mulberry Paper which is the best fibre of the Mulberry tree. Collecting the fiber does not interfere with the ecosystem as not a single tree has to be cut down. Only the leaves are harvested while the tree continues growing. Aurum continues to reduce the company‘s carbon footprint in all aspects of its production.
